My Mother moved to Woodside care home in September 2023 and quickly settled in. She has a lovely room, which is kept immaculate by housekeeping as are her clothes. The size of the home and small number of residents mean that no communal space ever seems crowded, residents can make use of the dining room, the large lounge, and the TV room, and there is always a quiet corner to be found. There are a variety of activities, from gluing and sticking, to choir concerts, seasonal parties, etc. which residents can benefit from and be involved in, with a patio area stocked with garden items and plants. My Mother had a few hospital stays and on her return, I could not fault the care and attention she received from staff. The whole team is very approachable and committed to providing their best at all times. My Mother has a marvellous relationship with all the staff. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Woodside care home, and indeed the marvellous team that work so hard each day.
From the moment that Mum arrived at Woodside care home, she was treated with the utmost care and respect. Her room was clean, warm, and welcoming. I love the fact that all residents are encouraged to go to the day room rather than be left alone in their room, though if wanted, they can. Mum has been encouraged to go to daytime activities, which she has done. The food is more than adequate and Mum enjoys everything that is cooked for her. The staff interacts with the residents, by sitting and chatting, cuddling them or just making them laugh. The main thing for me is that my Mum is happy and contented. Nobody wants to put their loved ones into a home, but if they are happy, it helps so much.
I am very satisfied with the care my mother is receiving at Woodside Care Home. Woodside has recently had renovation work done to it which has really modernised the entire home. During my mother's time at Woodside I have found the staff to be polite and caring. The food is good with there being plenty of choice and the activity coordinator does a great job in engaging and entertaining the residents.
My father has been in here since October, he settled in so quickly and it's not hard to see why. The building is beautiful, very clean, tidy and homely and the staff, every single one I've met, including the kitchen team, are just great! So friendly and kind! Nothing is too much trouble it seems. Today I had trouble with the snow when trying to collect Dad to take him out for lunch, unable to head out the staff invited me in instead. They happily sat me down for Sunday lunch which was really good, a big roast beef. I watched the staff treat each and every resident with care and kindness, way above and beyond what I would have expected all that time ago before Dad first moved in. I am so grateful to the whole team for the care and support they give my dad! Thank you from us all!
My husband has been in Woodside Care Home since August. I am really pleased with the care he is getting The staff are always around and are happy. My husband has made friends and is happy there. Meals are very nice and plenty of them. Woodside is very clean and my husband has a lovely room. I am very pleased with the choice I made for him.
An enormous thank you for all the hard work, love and care that you put into yesterday's Jubilee party. You made my husband very happy and my daughter and myself too. We are so fortunate to have found you all to take over when we couldn’t. One staff member, in particular, thank you for your funding efforts for entertainment. God bless you all.
I feel very lucky to have chosen Woodside as I know my mother is in safe hands. I’m very happy with how the staff look after my mother, they are caring and carry out their job in a professional way. The food is good with homemade meals being made each day as well as drinks and snacks offered throughout the day and the care home is clean and warm.
We recently took the tough decision to put Mum into a home as she needed constant care for her dementia and after only a few weeks of being there today I had my mum back. She was so happy and couldn’t give the staff enough compliments. They truly are unsung heroes who don’t get enough praise for what they do. My family are so grateful to you all and it’s nice and comforting to know that my mum's in safe hands. I'll remember to bring more cakes when I visit next weekend...you all deserve a treat once in a while!
My mum is currently residing at Woodside and I’m very happy with the care she is getting. The staff are patient with her and give her the time and attention she requires. My mother tells me that the food is nice and Woodside accommodates her requests for drinks and snacks etc. and the home itself is clean and tidy.
I have seen first-hand the level of care Woodside has given to my dad and can safely say the care he has received is good. The staff are polite and pleasant at all times, activities take place on a regular basis and the meals are excellent.
My dad was only at Woodside Care Home briefly. The team of care workers were completely wonderful! He died in their care, and they could not have done any more. I sat with my dad; endless tea was offered, and they even fed me. The team were 100% fantastic, and I cannot recommend this place enough!
The environment at Woodside is excellent. There are plenty of seating areas as well as lots of outdoor space for residents to go out into. My Dad's room is kept clean and tidy and nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff and management are very committed and have looked after my Dad exceptionally well. I can’t thank them enough.
I speak to my mother on a daily basis and find her in good spirits, even during these difficult times. The staff are friendly and caring towards her and she is happy with her room and the care she receives. My mother has dementia and is encouraged to join in with the activities, which she enjoys and benefits from.
My father has been at Woodside for a little over a year now and so far, the care he has received has been excellent. The staff are caring and nothing is too much trouble. There is plenty of food and drink and there is a variety of activities for him to do and take part in. They have done an excellent job, keeping my father safe during this pandemic which I am so grateful for.
We moved Mum to Woodside in January 2020, from another local care home. I wasn't happy with the way Mum was being treated, so my main priority was a high standard of care and sense of dignity. Woodside has this in spades. From the start, I could tell it was a caring, homely environment where care is taken very seriously, from comfort and the floor pads which alert staff to residents getting out of bed, to medication. The carers were all doing just that, caring. Not sitting about, filling in paperwork and ignoring residents' needs or chatting to each other. The place is bustling with staff and the delicious food never stops coming out (from the huge kitchen) which suits Mum! She was welcomed by everyone and sat down with a nice cuppa and afternoon tea. The place is dated and being renovated, so don't judge it on aesthetics – if you look closely, everyone feels at home, so it actually feels just right for the residents. And the manager is super responsive to my questions and concerns.
Woodside is an exceptional care home. Just before Christmas 2019, my mother was unwell and couldn’t stay at home. Management recognised our predicament and immediately allowed my mother to stay with them for respite care. All of the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they have taken away the concerns and worries of looking after an elderly relative. Mum had always intended to return home with a private care support service but having spent time living at Woodside, Mum decided to stay on as a permanent resident. As a family, we are confident that Mum is being well looked after. She has plenty to eat and plenty of cups of tea. There are organised activities and always staff around to support the residents. Outside of the coronavirus lockdown, we are able to visit Mum at any time. I would definitely recommend Woodside to others looking for a care home.
The level of care the staff give is superb, it gives me peace of mind to know that my Dad is being so well cared for. There are group and one to one activities ranging from puzzles to singers coming into the home to entertain everyone. My Dad's room is clean, comfortable and warm. Thank you all.
The home, communal area and Mum's room is kept clean and tidy. My Mum is well cared for and whenever I visit, she is well dressed. The staff are fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble and the meals are well presented and plentiful. Should my Mum ever want a snack or drink throughout the day or night, it's never a problem.
Woodside has provided brilliant care for my mother, who has dementia. The staff are caring. and my Mum seems very happy. I visited several care homes before choosing Woodside, it has a very homely feel to it, and I am kept informed about how my mum is doing. Thank you all for the work you do.
My Dad has been at Woodside now for several months. During this time we have found the staff to be very friendly and caring. The home manager is very approachable, should I ever have any questions about Dads care she is always happy to discuss this with me. The home is currently having an extension being built, which has created a bit of mess, but despite this the home is kept clean and tidy.
My Mum has been in need of full time care for quite a while and residential care is something I have been very reluctant to consider. But Mum is currently at Woodside and I was so impressed with the level of kindness and care I and my family have witnessed her receiving.
My Mother has been a resident in Woodside Care Home for over a year. I just want to say what incredible Staff you have at Woodside, their dedication, care and love towards their residents (& their families) is wonderful. Please do look after this incredible group of people as Woodside would be very much the poorer without them. You should be very proud.
Mum stayed at Woodside for 3 weeks and as I guess is normal, she felt nervous and apprehensive when she first arrived, however, we did not need to worry ourselves for leaving mum "alone" in a new room, the staff are fantastic, helpful and always ready to help, assist and advise. Mum is at home now, the stay was a respite period but on taking her back home, she is now beginning to think that this is where she would like to be, so watch this space.
My father has been a resident since June 2015. He initially found it hard to adjust but the management and staff made the difficult transition as smooth as possible. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. Dad was provided with all his needs in a caring compassionate and safe environment. The staff have a very good understanding of the demands of residents with dementia, which I am sure gives their care a premium edge. Dad celebrated his 90th birthday recently and when he returned after, we took him out for lunch and a nice surprise awaited him on his return, a party with entertainment. It really made his day. We have always been made welcome when we visit and we are always asked if we would like a cup of tea or coffee. One of the most welcoming aspects of Woodside has been the peace of mind that their care has brought to us. They care about the wider family, not just the resident. This was most evident when my father passed away recently after a short illness. Thank you all at Woodside.
My father has been a resident since September 2017. The staff are attentive and genuinely caring. My father has advanced dementia and his complex needs are met consistently and to a high standard. The home environment is welcoming and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Management and staff really do go the extra mile to welcome not just the resident but family involvement too. My father is treated with dignity and respect.
It's a year on - Mum has been at Woodside care home since August 2016. My two sisters and I each visit the care home weekly and are extremely pleased with the level of care our mum receives. Mum is not very sociable and keeps strange hours - but we are impressed with the level of attentiveness Mum receives. As soon as we get there the care assistant will tell us where she is, they seem to know exactly where each of their residents are at any given moment. Even though Mum is not particularly sociable she still gets included in outings and enjoys these little trips out. Whenever my sisters or myself visit we are welcomed with a smile and never feel we are getting in the way. Very happy with Woodside care home, thank you to all the staff.
Nurses are so kind and thoughtful. Very compassionate in their jobs. Plenty of facilities and room is always clean. Couldn't ask for a better service for my sister.
Residents are treated like kings and queens and are constantly asked if they are alright. All staff are familiar with resident's names which add a personal touch and ensures a homely atmosphere. Juice is always available in several locations and the tea trolley has regular outings. The food is good with meals being varied but also of the traditional type favoured by the older generation. Visiting is allowed without an appointment and a warm welcome can always be guaranteed at the front door. The manager's door is always open to both residents and visitors.
Very clean and well looked after. Staff are very nice and kind. Lots of love for the for the residents. When you arrive to visit, you are made to feel so welcome. I cannot fault anything.
My father has been a resident from February 2017 and still resides there, and I could not wish for a better place for him to live. They meet all his needs etc, the staff are very friendly and I could not wish for better people to look after him.
Woodside is a very pleasant and homely place, the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Dad seems settled and is looked after well. The home is a little dated but is in the process of being updated, the staff strive to maintain a homely, loving place. I couldn't wish for better care for dad.
The staff are all kind and considerate and keep you well informed about the resident. My husband has settled quite well considering he has vascular dementia.
My mother was at Woodside for over three years and has been very well looked after during that time. The home always has a warm and bright atmosphere and the team always very caring, creating a cosy and family feeling for residents and visitors. We have always been kept fully informed of her health and any other issues, and had a good level of communication with the team, especially during our weekly visits. We are very grateful for the care provided and never had to worry, as we knew she was in in the safest of hands. I have nothing but praise for the very professional but compassionate way in which they cared for my mother, especially towards the end of her life when a high level of personal care was required.
My Mother was always treated with respect and understanding during her time at Woodside. In the last weeks of her life, the carers showed her great compassion. The family visited day and night so could experience first hand the dedication and professionalism shown by everyone there. To say a lovely family atmosphere is apparent sounds a cliché but is nevertheless true, as we were always made to feel very welcome. It was a great comfort to us that Mother looked on Woodside as her home. Our genuine thanks to you all.
My two sisters and myself did lots of research before choosing Woodside - looking at many care homes throughout SE Kent. We were all impressed with the level of friendliness and care we saw in Woodside - and importantly there is lots of room too so residents can choose where they wish to spend their time. Our mum has been in Woodside a few months now, and each of the three of us have visited numerous times, and have never seen anything to change our opinion of Woodside as being a lovely care home.
Mr G C Reynolds my partner of 28 years has been in the care of Woodside for the last three and a half years. The last two years due to a change of management and staff have been an incredible change for Woodside for the better. I can not praise Jan, Jenny and the staff at Woodside for there dedication, hard work and caring professional approach not only to their clients, but there family members is exempt and very supportive whatever the situation maybe. Because of my husbands deterioration its to my great sadness he has been moved to a home that can give him the specialist care he now needs. We will miss Woodside a great deal. Thank you doesn't seem enough for all the wonderful care my husband has received and the difference Jan and her team have made in such as short time.
