We are writing to put on record our gratitude at the way everyone at The Oast care home took care of Sheila. From the moment she arrived to the day she passed she was treated with much kindness and respect. It is extremely difficult to choose a home for a loved one and much is done on trust but it was the best decision we ever made for her. Mum did not like change and a move from Spalding and leaving all her friends was a big challenge for her but the excellent care she received from the staff meant she soon settled in. Whilst she may not have wanted to join in all the activities the staff took time to ensure she had everything she needed and often would sit and chat with her. We would like it noted that her medical needs were met and even though nothing could be done with her failing eyesight and increasing frailty no one ever gave up on her. The team's efforts to keep her eating and hydrated in the final days was greatly appreciated. The staff always kept us up to date on mum's general health and well being which gave us a lot of comfort knowing she was being so well looked after. The staff at The Oast care home were always warm and friendly when we visited and couldn't be more helpful when we were arranging to take Mum out. We could not possibly single out any individual for particular praise as the whole team are wonderful.
My father received caring, compassionate and overall excellent care from March 2024 until his death yesterday. The carers are not only skilled and professional but always warm and friendly and treat residents with utmost dignity. The Oast residential care home in maidstone is a most welcoming home and deservedly has my recommendation to potential residents.
The care my dad receives at The Oast Care Home is top quality. The staff are attentive and respectful towards him, with nothing being too much trouble and because of this I have noticed much improvement in his health and day to day living. The activities are well varied, engaging and enjoyed by many and the home is kept clean.
My mother has been at The Oast residential care home for a couple of months now and she has settled in very well. The staff have gone above and beyond to ensure her move into the home was as smooth as possible. When visiting I have found the staff to be polite and respectful towards my mother and other residents and there are plenty of activities that my mother enjoys taking part in.
I cannot fault the staff that work at The Oast care home. Each time I visit they fill me with confidence that I have chosen the right care home for my Mum, as they are polite and caring towards my mother and myself. Her room is a good size, well lit with a lovely en-suite and there is always plenty of choice at meal times with the food which always smells and looks lovely.
My dad moved into The Oast care home a few months ago and I’m very pleased with how he’s settled in. The staff are all wonderful, caring and professional in how they interact with my Dad for which I am grateful for. The home is modern and spacious and the food is excellent and knowing that my dad is in their care gives me great peace of mind. Thank you all.
My father has been at The Oast Care Home for the past 6 months and I have been very happy with the care he has been receiving. I am always kept informed with how my father is and when I speak to him he seems very happy and well looked after. I am very pleased with having chosen The Oast, thank you all for the amazing work you do.
Excellent support and knowledge. Assistance at all times. Care for the resident and family has been excellent. Kept informed at all times, cleanliness and health care have been excellent. Time taken to chat with residents and to consider their needs. Documented evidence of actions is available at all times.
When I go in to see mum I am always greeted warmly. Mum is happy to be in The Oast Care Home she has been there for 19 years. When the drinks trolley comes around I am always offered a drink. The staff are very pleasant. Mum's room is always kept neat and tidy.
We would like to thank all the staff at The Oast care home for looking after Mum in the last four years of her life. They are all so caring and we have nothing but praise for their kindness and dedication in the work that they do. They made her 100th birthday and 101 very special and we appreciate everything that they have done. Thanks.
My mother is extremely happy and content at The Oast Care Home. The staff and management are warm and caring; attentive to her every need. The activities and events always include visitors of family or friends. The garden and conservatory area are lovely and well-kept. I am so grateful for all the care and attention for my mum. She loves the food! Wonderful care home.
My Mum has been at The Oast care home for over a year now and during this time the staff have taken good care of her, attending to her care needs and making sure she is clean and well dressed. Christmas at The Oast was lovely with decorations put up and a wonderful Christmas dinner put on, it was a lovely day.
The Oast has looked after my mum extremely well during her time there. The staff are all very caring and respectful to my mum, and even through the lockdown periods, they continued to go above and beyond to ensure mum continued to get the care she needed. The home itself is delightful and provides a lovely homely environment. The bedroom is attractively decorated, spacious and there is a lovely garden which residents can go out into.
My mother has resided at The Oast a little while now and I’ve found the care they provide to be very good. Whenever I visit her, I have found the staff to be approachable and able to answer any queries I have about her care. The home is spotlessly clean both in her room and communal areas and the activities are very good with there always something going on to keep residents happy and busy.
My mum receives outstanding care from all of the staff at The Oast and my family have nothing but praise for the high standard of care that she gets from everyone. They are like one big family to her and treat her with so much kindness and compassion, especially during the pandemic. Mum celebrated her 100th birthday last month and again we can't thank everybody enough for making her day so special. The Oast is always kept immaculate whenever we visit and Mum always enjoys the variety of good home-cooked meals. The staff are always helpful with updates on Mum's health and questions we may have. Also thanks to the staff for all their hard work entertaining the residents - they do a brilliant job, along with all the carers who are all of a high standard.
The team of staff at The Oast Care Home are fantastic. They have looked after my Mum so well and it really does show as I can see such an improvement in her day to day living when I visit her. She enjoys the food and outdoor garden space which is of great importance to her. The activities staff do a great job in arranging events and activities for my Mum and other residents to take part in.
I am pleased with the care my mum has received at The Oast and the staff have been amazing keeping me informed about my mum's well being. There are many activities and events which take place to keep my mum and other residents entertained and active, whether it be puzzles, gardening or knitting. The home is neat, tidy and has lovely home-cooked food.
I am happy with the care my father is receiving at The Oast. All the staff are very welcoming and have shown nothing but kindness and care towards my father. During the pandemic, all the staff have gone beyond their normal duties to ensure the safety of everyone. The manager is always happy to talk to me about any questions I have, regarding my father's care and the care home is maintained to a good standard.
The staff are compassionate and have treated my mum with respect and dignity during her time at The Oast and she has received the highest level of care. She enjoys the entertainment and activities that take place, both indoors and outdoors and the food is excellent, with a varied menu. Should she need anything, we are informed and have always been made welcome, when visiting.
My Dad is a resident at The Oast Care Home. During his time there I have found the care he has received to be excellent. The staff are respectful and treat him with dignity and are attentive to his needs, should there be any problems they let me know. The Oast is very homely with lovely rooms and good facilities.
My mother settled in very quickly at The Oast. The Oast has a very homely feel to it with exemplary staff that are polite and caring. Despite the restriction with visiting due to the pandemic the activities staff have done a great job in organising garden visits and online calls. I have no concerns about my mothers welfare as I know she is being well cared for.
I have nothing but good things to say about The Oast. The manager has helped me a lot and has been very supportive when I was looking for a care home for my Dad. The carers are always there for my dad, making sure he is well looked after, clean-shaven etc. Since my dad moved into The Oast, I have noticed his general well being improve, which is good to see. The home is clean, and my dad enjoys taking part in the activities that the home put on. I would highly recommend this home.
I can’t fault the care at The Oast Care Home. My Dad is well looked after, the staff are friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble - they are always happy to help. The food is lovely and the cleanliness of the home is second to none. Dad's bedroom is spacious, nicely decorated and clean. For anyone looking for a care home for a loved one, I’d strongly recommend The Oast.
The Oast care home is a lovely care home with committed and dedicated staff, which go above and beyond to care for people. It has been tough not being able to go into the home the past few months due to the current pandemic, however, the home has done such a great job in keeping everyone safe and arranging window visits and Skype/FaceTime calls. I have been kept informed about how Mum is getting on, if ever I have the slightest concerns, especially during these difficult times it was addressed right away, which gave me peace of mind.
The care is excellent. My mum is happy and content with living at The Oast care home. The staff are caring to both residents and families. Mum's room is kept clean, the food is good and there is a lovely garden, which residents can go into whenever they choose.
I have been very pleased with the care my Dad is receiving at The Oast Care Home. The staff and management are always very caring and welcoming, and the home is very clean. His room is spacious, and he enjoys the food.
My mum has been a resident of The Oast Care Home for several months. Over this period, she’s experienced deteriorating health. However, the excellent care she receives has meant that she remains comfortable, pain-free and happy. The staff are friendly, professional, helpful and diligent. Mostly they’ve been proactive in seeking equipment vital to mum’s care including the facilitation of a specialist cushion and mattress. During what has been a challenging time for care homes, due to COVID 19, the management has kept my family informed of my mother’s health. It is to the credit of the whole team that the home so far remains COVID free. I extend my gratitude to all staff from cleaners, carers, chef, and management for taking such good care of my wonderful mum. Throughout the pandemic, the group has provided information on visiting and precautions as and when new government guidance has been available. When visiting has not been possible, they have enabled Skype and phone calls.
My mother has been at The Oasts for 8-months now. Mum was made very welcome on her arrival, and as she deteriorated, I feel the staff treated her as part of the family. I can only praise all the staff at the home; they are always very helpful, polite and very caring. The staff are always helpful when I ring to enquire on how mum is. If mum could choose where she wanted to be; I'm sure it would be there.
My father has been at The Oast residential care home for a year, and we have nothing but praise for the management and staff. He can be difficult at times, but they really look after him well, are very patient, caring and thoughtful of his needs. The Friday monthly Chinese take-away that is arranged is such an excellent idea, as it is something that my father really enjoys. We can't thank you enough.
My father spends his remaining time here and is looked after very well at The Oast. Whenever I visit the home, there always seems to be some sort of positive change in appearance and facilities, which makes the visit all the more welcoming. Due to the current pandemic, I haven't been able to see my father for several months, however, the home has kept me informed on how my father has been doing, and how the current guidelines are being followed.
I'm very pleased with the care my dad is getting at The Oast Care Home. The staff are pleasant and polite. There is a lovely garden area which residents can go out into and the care home and Dad's room is kept clean.
The staff are helpful and friendly. My Mum's room and the home is clean and tidy. Activities take place, which mum Mum takes part in and enjoys.
My Dad had one week's respite care in May 2017. The staff were very warm and welcoming at all times. They ensured he joined in activities which he really enjoyed. His room was light and airy. Dad has vascular dementia and can be very unsettled but he was well looked after and was fine. When we picked him up after his week's stay he said: "I want to leave my case here for next time I come". I think that shows how happy he was at The Oast.
The care review was carried out in a friendly and professional way. The Head of care is very approachable and displays a total commitment to the needs of the residents, as do all the staff. All questions asked were relevant to the overall well being of mum and her needs were listened to and given due consideration. The home is run in a truly professional manner whilst providing a genuinely caring atmosphere. I am 100% satisfied with the level of care provided to mum.
My father spent his remaining time at The Oast and we found the staff and service very efficient and friendly. Over the last few years, the home has undergone a lot of refurbishment work which has resulted in a wonderful environment. I'd thoroughly recommend this home to anyone looking for peace of mind for their loved ones to be taken care of.
My dad enjoyed his time at The Oast before sadly passing away. The staff have been brilliant, not only to my dad but the rest of the family. When visiting, we have been made to feel very welcome. There are lots of activities for the residents to enjoy. My dad had a lovely room and he enjoyed the food. We would like to thank the staff for all their support.
Mum became a resident in September 2017 after no longer being able, or wishing to live alone. She now seems a lot happier and feels safe and secure at all times. And we feel reassured that she is surrounded by friendly, caring and very approachable staff 24/7 which gives us peace of mind that Mum is well cared for and respected. Thank you to the manager and all the staff at The Oast.
My father was a resident for the last six months and sadly passed away this weekend. We have nothing but praise for the care which he received in The Oast especially since his return from the hospital. He was quite content there and all the staff were very caring towards him. They have a lovely new conservatory which unfortunately he was too ill to use.The manager and all her staff are really professional and very approachable.
Since becoming a resident my mother-in-law has improved not only physically but mentally too she seems to enjoy life so much more, there's a contentment and feeling of happiness I've not seen for a long time, she has everything she needs warmth, friends, good food, respect and a warmth of caring that runs deep in all the staff, they give so much to all those at the home. If all homes were run like The Oast old age would hold no fear for anyone, I hold a deep respect for all who work at The Oast.
The Oast is well managed, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The residents in general seem happy and are well cared for. I would recommend The Oast to anyone, knowing their loved ones would be well cared for.
My Godmother has just passed away after being in The Oast for nearly 3 years. I have to say I would happily go into The Oast when my turn comes. It is, without doubt, the best Care Home in the South East, the Manager and staff are truly caring and compassionate and when my Godmother was dying someone was with her and holding her hand right up to the end. Whenever she wanted something they would go above and beyond to supply it for her and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Can't praise them highly enough.
